Tip 4: Use an online conferencing platform to record a video with a translator

Many are using video conferencing tools like Zoom to meet with their students live, which is a wonderful way to stay connected in these unprecedented times! Also consider other ways you can leverage these tools — like meeting with a translator and sharing the recording with your school community.

The principal, ASB president and a Spanish language translator at one of our local schools (San Marcos High School) collaborated via Zoom, uploaded the recording on YouTube, and shared it with the SMHS community via ParentSquare. Check out the video here or click the screenshot below.

In addition to including a translator, we love how the ASB president joined the principal. In high school, it’s great for students to hear from one of their peers to provide a different perspective — in this case — one that encouraged them to digitally connect with each other through popular platforms like Instagram & Twitter (“DM a friend”), FaceTime, Discord, and even Minecraft.

Bonus: great school wallpaper backgrounds!
