Tip 21: Send home family bingo games to encourage fun and learning

With school closures, students are missing out on academic growth, social interaction and physical activity. Even with distance learning in place, many students are doing less schoolwork than usual and not getting the same daily dose of physical activity and interaction.

To combat this, Santa Clara USD created these incredible “bingo” sheets with activities to do at home. It’s a fantastic idea: the bingo sheets provide a variety of activities, the format is not overwhelming to parse through, and families and students can tackle one activity at a time.

They separated activities out by grade level and included English and Spanish versions to serve their diverse community.

Some bingo activities are more traditionally educational and academic.

Many encourage innovation, mindfulness and observation of the world!

Upon closer examination, you’ll notice that the bingo cards are color-coded (purple for physical activities, pink for writing activities, etc) but share the common thread of being fun, and inspiring creativity and critical thinking with interactive learning activities that can be done at home.
