1. Heartfelt Email

Type up a heartfelt thank you and email it! Not sure what to write? We have many written examples for you here.

2. Handmade Card

Handcraft a thank you. Send your teacher(s) a photo of it now and mail it to them at school. If you’re looking for inspiration, you’ll find some great DIY card ideas here.

3. Favorite Song

Pick one of their favorite songs, and organize a solo or group sing! If you need inspiration, here is a song that Mrs. Pavone’s kindergarten class performed and sent to her (with the help of some marvelous parents).

4. Punctual Homework

If you're a student (or the parent of a student) who struggles to turn in assignments on time, try turning something in early. Why not include a note in the margin of your paper (or the equivalent online), letting your teacher know you appreciate them?

5. Personalized Artwork

Tap into your artistic side to create something special for your teacher. Send them a photo now and give it to them in person later. Here are five interesting art projects with instructional videos from artist Carla Sondheim that work for young and old alike.

6. Appreciation Video

Get together with fellow classmates to make a video appreciating your teacher. Francis Howell School District shared some tips for appreciation videos here.

7. Memorable Moments

A teacher friend of ours told us she loves hearing about student’s favorite memories from school, what they miss about being in class, and a story or moment that was meaningful for them. Here are some stories to help you get inspired.

8. Gift Card

Gift cards are still a valid option! How about a dinner delivery or something related to their hobbies? Collect for the class and send by email!

9. Act of Gratitude

Do something for the community in honor of your teacher. Make a donation in their name or volunteer! Here are some ideas that may help you decide how best to donate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

10. Top-Notch Assignment

Do your assignment with extra care, make it perfect! Seeing students improve is one of the things that makes a teacher very happy.

11. Class Surprise

During your next online class, surprise your teacher with a big thank you! It can be as easy as having every student simultaneously hold up a piece of paper with “Thank You” in big letters, or dressing up in your best clothes, as this class did.

12. Meaningful Learning

Explore a topic that you’re interested in and tell your teach all about it! Teach them something new. Let them know they’ve sparked a love of learning in you.

Is there a teacher you’d like to thank? Let us know what you do, so we can showcase you and your school!
