Meet the Team: Samantha Schulz

This week’s Meet the Team is Samantha Schulz, our Customer Success Training Manager. She helps to train and on-board new schools and districts to ensure they can successfully implement ParentSquare at their school sites!

If you had to teach a subject, what would it be?

I actually was a teacher! I taught high school chemistry and middle school science in Newark, New Jersey prior to joining ParentSquare!

What are you most likely doing on a Saturday afternoon?

Most Saturdays I try to get to a hot yoga class. It starts the weekend off in a productive way that bleeds over into the rest of the weekend.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Bread, easily. It is such a versatile food and one I couldn't do without. Bagels, Baguettes, Croissants, Danishes, really is an all-day item.

Favorite restaurant?

Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar in the Santa Barbara Public Market. Their tofu is some of the best and it's fun to watch them work the woks!

What words of wisdom would you pass onto your childhood self?

You don't know nearly as much as you think you do. When I was a kid, I used to think I knew so much about everything. Essentially, if I knew the basics, I was an expert. I now realize that I knew almost nothing then and know so little about only a few things now. Knowledge really is never-ending.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?

Crossword puzzles! I will frequently bring them to a coffee shop, bar, or cafe to work on them and it is the perfect activity to do while people-watching!

What is your favorite holiday?

Thanksgiving. There is really something about a day where we join together with family, friends, and loved ones and reflect on what we are grateful for.

What do you like most about working for ParentSquare?

The product! With background as a teacher and school administrator, I would have loved a comprehensive product to engage with families.

Samantha has been at ParentSquare since February 25th, 2019.
